DC Universe Classics Wave 9

On February 7, 2009, Mattel revealed the lineup for the ninth wave of the line at the 2009 New York Comic Con. One of the villains in the wave, Mantis, has a 50/50 split consisting of his comic book counterpart and his depiction in the Super Powers line. A Guardian variant was initially shown, but was cancelled in favor of the Wildcat variant. Some stores only received a fraction of their pre-orders from Mattel

The Collect and Connect for this wave is Chemo, the arch-nemesis of the Metal Men, in his modern form. Mattel also decided to drop a running change on Chemo
A lot of fans have asked about the two types of Chemos showing up at retails. Simply put, we made a running change half way thought production to add a bubble piece inside of his chest to create a cool liquid effect. (we actually tried real liquid but that was not working out!)

This is a running change and not an intentional variant in our ongoing quest to constantly improve figures in the line!
