Headline Writers Around the World Show Their Age...

It may have been 40 years and four months (!!!) since Burt Ward last uttered his signature catchphrase on the campy 1960's ABC televeision show but its legacy clearly lives on in the minds and hearts of the world's copy editors.

The LA Times had an interesting little blurb showcasing just how unoriginal the world's newspapers were when it came to reporting on The Dark Knight's box office draw. Not exactly Batman 'news' per se, but kinda humorous. Here's some examples ...

Birmingham News (Alabama): Holy authenticity, Batman! Holy blockbuster! Batman
Redlands Daily Facts (California): Holy campout, Batman!
Times Colonist (Victoria, British Columbia): Holy human superhero, Batman!
Toronto Sun: Holy white-nose syndrome, Batman!
Toronto Star: Holy impressionist Batman!
The Vancouver Province (British Columbia): Holy IMAX scenes, Batman!

Click READ MORE for a link to the full article and more examples of this trend (including some even less sensical than those above... 'white-nose syndrome'?? WTF?)...

So, you think 40 years is enough time to finally let a catchphrase go? Got an idea for a new one? Anyone think we'll be seeing different versions of 'Why So Serious' on headlines forty years from now? Discuss it all in our BYTB Batman Movie Forum !
