This past weekend two big comic conventions were being held in separate parts of the continent. Baltimore Comic Con and the Toronto Fan Expo were both held to give DC Comics fans a low-down on all the upcoming news and events. And, although the conventions are not known for being the "big name" news breakers like CCI or C2E2, Dan DiDio and Ian Sattler did manage to let some juicy tidbits slip.

In some ways it was a weekend even busier than Comic-Con itself!
• Regarding Dick Grayson's costumed identity: “I’m going to give away a little secret: he was going to go back to Nightwing pretty quick, but that reaction that we’ve seen kept him in the costume longer -- and will see him there in the future. He’s not coming out anytime soon just because Bruce Wayne is coming back,” DiDio said.
• DiDio teased the possibility for a Damian Wayne series by Andy Kubert (!!)
• DC attempted to get The Shadow for “First Wave” and in fact, there is still a chance for that to happen.
• Grant Morrison will begin work on his Multiverse series after he gets a bit further ahead on his massive Bruce Wayne/Batman epic.
• Asked by a young fan what the Joker’s definitive origin was, Gates said that it’s all a lie. As seen in “The Dark Knight,” the story changes each time the Joker tells it. Another fan suggested that perhaps even the Joker doesn’t know what his own origin is.
• “You will see Cassandra Cain in the DCU, for sure, permanently in 2011. That cat was already half out of the bag,” Sattler revealed. “She’s been re-invented and reintroduced a few times,” Sattler said, adding that he wants to make sure the next iteration of Cassandra Cain is 100% right.
• What can we expect of the Red Hood following Winick’s “The Red Hood: Lost Days” miniseries? Sattler tackled this one, “That is a major villain in the DCU. That is Dick Grayson’s nemesis.”
• Questions popped up regarding some recent wardrobe and identity switches. Sattler set the record straight, informing all that Tim Drake is Red Robin and Damian Wayne is Robin for the foreseeable future. Wonder Woman’s costume is also locked in for the foreseeable future as well.
• What about “Gotham Central?” Sattler said DC is “working on something that will fill that niche.”
• A younger reader asked if “the man Question” was going to come back. Sattler said Renee Montoya is the question for the time being.
• How about Greg Rucka doing some more “Batwoman?” “That’s up to Greg,” Sattler said.
• How long is Grant Morrison staying on Batman? Sattler personally chatted with Morrison about this at San Diego and said that Morrison has some great ideas planned for Batman, specifically mentioning the upcoming “Batman, Inc.” series. Sattler then went on to say that Morrison has a number of Batman stories in various stages of proposal and development, including a story that could be the greatest Batman story ever.
