Thank God they finally released the colored cover images. I think I made my eyes worse than they already are staring at those black and white images.

Here are the images. Naturally click for a bigger image.

Jim Lee

George Perez

These are pretty high res, so be sure and magnifiy them.

wow cant believe this thing is finally coming to and end. in the new issue of batman that came out yesterday, the dc nation thing where didio talks to the fans was filled with hints and subtle clues about things. thats where he revelaed about the more pages but same price thing. needless to say this will be a jam packed issue. as for the covers. is it wrong of me to not be really impressed with either. i mean theyre good, but i was hoping for something more i guess, especially consideirng its the final issue. aeh just an opinion.

Something more? You can't fit anything else on those covers. I think that Perez cover is great. Really nice battle scene.

lol no im sorry, i didnt mean they need to fit more on either cover as both are obviously jam packed. i meant more as in something else instead of what they have, as in different pictures all together lol. yeah that came out wrong lol. i do agree i like the perez version better here as well tho. ive atcually been buying more of lee's than perez's but the the last few have been perez.

EDIT: if those are the two covers...what is this?
http://www.dccomi.../?cm=5079

i recall seeing this before either of the two were released so im guessing that was like an early draft, placeholder type of thing?

I really love those covers. big grin The Jim Lee cover is a nice homage to the cover of the final issue of Crisis On Infinite Earths, which featured all of the heroes and villains swarming around the Anti-Monitor.
The Perez cover totally owns. Batman clobbering Black Manta. Hourman taking down Deathstroke. Jay Garrick battling Zoom. Bane facing down Aquaman. :bigeek::bigeek::bigeek: I want posters, NOW!

Well, today is the day. I hit the comic shop as soon as I was confident that they had issue 7 ready. All I can say is wow. Things really got dark there, but this was possibly the best comic I have readin a while. The ending went into the predictable, but still was a nice fit. The truly gut-wrenching thing was the loss of Superman. This story truly put a bookend on the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

I can't wait to here everyone else's reactions.

Just read IC #7. Excellent issue. While it was unfortunate that Kal-L had to die, I thought it was a redeeming way to send him out. I have a funny thing that we have not seen the last of Superboy Prime. I wonder how the whole Flash scenario will pan out. Even though the Joker had a small role in IC, he was relevant when it mattered.

Wall-to-wall greatness!

-the return of Bane
-the modern Superman and the Golden Age Superman taking Doomsday the hell out-- and quickly, too
-Wildcat recognizing the original Superman
-Bart showing up and landing about 10,000 punches on Superboy Prime in the space of one second
-Captain Atom's return
-"The thin green line"
-Batman making Luthor stain his shiny little gold pants
-Superman/Superman vs. Superboy Prime
-Kal-L's death (I surprised myself by tearing up a bit... wanna make somethin' of it?!)
-the Joker and Luthor taking care of that little punk Alex
-"I'll be rebuilding the Batman. But this time it's going to be different.... I'm not going alone."
-seeing the Kingdom Come Starman, Uncle Sam, and the badass designs for Batwoman and the white Captain Marvel costume
-"I've been in worse places than this. And I've gotten out."

Johns gets a lifetime pass from me for this story. If everything else he does from now on is somehow terrible, I still won't be able to consider him a bad writer. This was just too damn good. My one gripe with the story is that the Anti-Monitor didn't return. Didn't quite seem complete without him.

I saw a graphic novel at the comics store entitled 'Superman: INFINITE CRISIS' is this the whole story, or is it just the Superman side of it? It didn't appear to look very long. I really want to read it. Everyone likes it here, it seems, whereas, over in the Superman Homepage, everyone hates it because of the affect it is having on continuity and how the ingenious Superboy Prime was ruined and turned into a villain.

I would have my revenge...

Superman: Infinite Crisis

is a collection of SUPERMAN #226, ACTION COMICS #836, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #649 and stories from INFINITE CRISIS SECRET FILES 2006. This is basically some tie in stuff that adds a bit of richness to the story. It is especially great to see how each of the two Supermen view each other.

For the main Infinite Crisis story you want:

Infinite Crisis

This is the 7 issue miniseries that was the main event. You can read this on its own, but there are dozens of smaller stories that tie into it, but are not required reading.
