I'm beginning to think Target is the only store in my area that carries these figures. It's the only place I've seen them.

I order them online. It's actually cheaper. I have seen them at Wal-Mart though.

Where do you order them from? I think I might want to do the same.

I did not plan to get all of them, only the Batman related ones, but Im a sap for great figures and I have almost all of them any ways. I even have Lobo that I got from the Mattel Web Site. Only the Sinestro and Deathstroke variants elude me for now.
So far most have come from Retail and a few I had to get on eBay. My main gripe about them is the mix of hard and soft plastic and the way the paint colors do not match. This is most apparent on the legs. The joint just above the knees on most figures is where you see it the most, but the arms vs. the body have the same problem too.
The other issue is distribution. I may have to start ordering them online, although I dont care so much for some of the upcoming figures. There are two K B Exclusives in the upcoming wave. Batman Beyond Unmasked and Cyborg with Sonar Arm. The amount of exclusive and chase figures are starting to become annoying, but I really want that Batman Beyond.

It looks like Mattel is up to their old tricks again. Its like the old saying you cant teach and old dog new tricks.
They are upping the figures in a case to 10, which means more duplicates. However if you look at Wave 7 cases you cannot get all the figures you need to build the C&C figure. This is sure to be a problem for Online Retailers but maybe all these extra figures in a case will make it easier to find them at Retail.
But heres something I noticed based on history. Mattel only seems to churn out six to eight waves or so of a line before they kill it off, but always somewhere around wave 3 or 4 they make changes that doom the line. So far the ONLY exception is JL/JLU, which has lumbered on for the last 5 years, although it too has its own issues.
Right from the start in 2003 the Comic Style Series of figures only had 3 waves released here in the U.S., and by 2004 Mattel sent the last 3 waves, which were some of the best ones, overseas.
DC Superheroes started in 2005 and the first 3 waves alternated between Batman and Superman and were good, but wave 4 in 2006 started back-to-back-to-back waves of Superman figures before wave 7 and 8 ended the line with Batman figures.
Now we have DC Universe in 2008 with the first 3 waves being OK, but now we are seeing a change in later waves of figures and Mattel showing signs of repeating the same case ratio mistakes again. At this rate, Mattel could be done with the whole line by 2009 unless they figure a way to keep in running the way Marvel Legends did.

They first announced this at Comic COn. I had posted it, however this case assortment is new and like all those on The Fwoosh, I am a bit ticked. I order these figures online because it's easier, and actually cheaper.
From what I can see on other boards, no one is happy. So Mattel will have to fix this. I'll stop getting this line if they can't get the cases controled better.
The big thing is that there is no reason to up the figures per wave. 5 per wave is enough. But, ok, up it, up the cases to 10, but at least put the entire wave into the case.
The 15th we'll see new Mattel answers. If this question isn't addressed, I'll email Toy Guru and see what I can find out.

Some guy in Ohio picked up series 4 at Retail for these!
I agree Flabat - that Terry McGinnis is superb.

I got 4 of the 5 basic figures from Wave 4 tonight at Wal-Mart. Batman Beyond and the variants of Captain Atom and Artemis are the only ones I did not see on the pegs. This might be the last Wave I get all of them.

Here is Mattel's response to the case ratios via The Fwoosh:
1. For the newly announced case packs for the Atom Smasher series, a lot of collectors are worried about finding all of their figures to complete the C&C. Will the two different assortments be shipping to retail at the same time, or will they be staggared?
The assortments will be a bit staged which was done for a few reasons. Mainly, in order to keep the cost per figure down we needed to assure our retailer partners that there would be new fresh product in each mix. This meant splitting the waves into two mixes which would ship about a month apart. (it was this or raising the price to 19.99 per figure, these are expensive guys to make!) In the end, we wanted to keep the SRP down. But as a compromise, online sellers will be able to order solid case packs and create their own Waves to sell as they see fit. We know this isnt a perfect solution, but with rising manufacturing costs, this was one of the best options we could take.

Ive all but given up on this line. I have almost all of them up to wave 4, Im still missing Batman Beyond and the variants. Ive been lucky enough to get most of them at Retail, but ONLY Wave 1 seems to have any kind of significant distribution to the stores and most of them are now Peg Warmers. Of the coming waves there are only two or three figures I even care about and Ill probably only get them.

I found a DCUC Batman Beyond at a Toys R Us last night. I was not expecting to find very much as TRU always seems to be trailing the Wal-Mart and Target in the action figure department. There was also a Wonder Woman there too, but no others.
So I ask one of the employees if they have any in the back and they scan the pacakage and say yes. He disappears for a while and comes back empty handed. The guy says that there are some back there, but they are in an area where they are to be returned and they cannot sell them. He does not know why they are going back and I can speak to a manager if I want.
I pass on the manager and go to check out. At check out a guy who sees the figure comments on it and Bruce Timm and BTAS and such. As we make small talk I say that another employee told me there are others back there but they are being recalled or something. Seeming to know more about it he says they are Penguins, but is not sure why they are going back. I comment that Penguin was part of Wave 1 and that wave flooded the market place. He agrees and thinks that may be part of why they are going back.
Maybe Mattel is taking back old stock for new stock Maybe thats why new waves are so hard to find at Retail as they do exchange returns.

Well.. I stopped at the local Wally World on the way home today.. and guess what.. WAVE 5! Thats right, all 5 of em! I'll go back in the morning and see if there is more and I'll pick a few up.
It was pretty neat, that doesn't happen to me very often.

few weeks before Christmass, saw just a Batman Beyond hanging on Target, the symbol was horrible painted...got it aniway... then visited other Target, saw other with bad paint job...skipped... then last knight saw the whole wave...got a better Batman Beyond & bought Wonder Woman for the wife (she got exited), then with the new receipt I went & exchanged the Batman Beyond with horrible paint...So I have two with better paint job.
Hope to see the Beyond for JLA.
Oh! BTW: got the Cyborg Superman 2 pack at TRU, I know this figure will go up in price... After that never saw another one I want to open a second if I have the chance to get other.
