There isn't alot of JLU Figures talk on here, and I'm hoping to change that. I got an email from a friend that sent me these pic, so look for these figures this year...

The Joker looks to have the same body as the Mattel Animated Style Batman figures from 2003. The head is all new and totally wicked.

THAT is the Joker! I love that design, it's way past due for the plastic treatment. I'll definitely get that, and Ice too. Not sure about Blue Devil, depends on whether or not he's in a 3-pack, and if so, who he's packed with.
I've also noticed the lack of JLU discussion here, I think I may be the only person who buys them. I did a big review last week that will hopefully go up next week sometime, so I'll link it when it does. It covers a few of the recent single releases, and the Doomsday box set.

I'm glad to see a JL styled Joker coming out, but his head looks kinda big on that body. Ice has a great body in that it isn't so stiff and upright like Wonder Woman. Blue Devil looks nice, but I'm not sure I need him unless I can get a good deal.
I have every 10" figure, but with Atom, I thought they were diversifying a bit too much from the core characters. Considering how few they've made, Hourman (who appears to be an Atom repaint) is just too far out there for me, so I'm probably gonna pass. Besides, how many kids would want a big 10" Hourman? Black Canary, Vixen, or even Booster Gold would have made a lot more sense as a 10-incher.

The Joker looks good!! If being hyper critical he's indecently skinny (maybe that's just jealousy), but he looks great. |

Nah, Flabat has the reviews pretty well covered here, so I don't ever try to put 'em up here. I haven't actually checked figure by figure to see what hasn't been reviewed in the archives, though. Now that I think about it, I really don't know whay I haven't looked to see if anything I have still needed to be covered on the site. I think I'll do that after I post this reply.
Anyway, I sent the review to Michael Crawford for his review site, the first I've done in a while due to slacking off on buying figures this past year. JLU isn't one of the big "hot" lines, though, so I don't know how soon it'll go up. I'm perfectly willing to reformat the review on a figure-by-figure basis in a new format for the site if you want, though.
I appreciate the offer to use the site's resources for the reviews, I really do. But I prefer to come up with all the pics and such myself. I have this thing about using what someone else did, even if I have their permission. I'd feel weird using some of the site's pics in one my reviews for another site, even if it was covered with BYTB watermarks. If ya'll ever need me to cover a toy for this site, though, it wouldn't bother me.

That Joker looks great. And damn! I used to dream about having action figures with that much cleavage... It still boggles my mind to that they ever managed to get all those suggestive themes on to a kid's show.

That Joker looks good, even if they used the Mattel BTAS/TNBA(Batman: The Animated Series/The New Batman Adventures) body and gave it a new head scuplt. I'll defently pick him up for my Animated verison of a regular looking Joker. The only veriosn of Joker I got is the black Terrorcast Joker from The Adventures Of Batman And Robin line. If I get these this Joker as well, I'll have 2 Jokers, with 1 in regular looking and another in a Gangster or a Night Out Of Town like look. Besides, in the Bruce Timm DC Animated world, the JL/JLU design of the Joker(Which I think was 1st used in the Batman Beyond: Return Of The Joker flashback scenes) is probably the best look of the Joker's other 2/3 designs(While I like his BTAS and Future Batman Beyond look, I wasn't a fan of the TNBA look because it was missing the red lipstick, as well as how the eyeballs were now black and his eyes were now yellow). It appears that the JL/JLU head design from the show is based on a combination of the BTAS and TNBA, which basically has the yellow eyeballs with black eyes and red lipstick(Which were from BTAS) with a pointy looking chin(From TNBA. BTAS had a different looking chin).
I wonder if this Joker will also be offer in a JLU 3 pack as well? If it does, I think it would make sense to have it in a 3 pack featuring Batman(Yes, I'm well aware of how people are pretty sick and tired of getting a Batman figure in this line now, but in this case, it would make sense) and either Black Carney or Huntress(This time with her later JLU look/Jim Lee inspired design/white cross for the 3 pack), as a way to make it sort of like a "Unofficial" Gotham City 3 pack. |
