My car collection has always been planned to end with the Bronze Age, mostly because that's when my collection ended. As the project has developed and more and more cars have found themselves on the shelf, I started considering a new "age": The Post-Crisis Age.
Post-Crisis starts... well, immediately after Marv Wolfman's CRISIS 12-issue saga. Comix-wise, the first Batmobile was the Pantera that got sad, poor Jason Todd involved in the Bat Family. However, the cars that got my attention were those designed by Norm Breyfogle. Those things look like spaceships.
I think that, aside from Jason Todd, the other significant feature of the Post-Crisis Age is Bruce Wayne stepping down from the cape and cowl. If folks have the KightsEnd saga, could you tell me what the batmobile looked like when Batman wore the "bat armor"?
My thought is that the line where the Post-Crisis Age ends and the Modern Age begins is the return of the "no-oval-around-the-bat" costume.

As for base cars, I would keep an eye out for kits of the "wedge" supercars, esp Lambos, and the "Concept Cars." As I recall, one used in a particular book was closely based on the "Corvette Indy."
I'd also look into the Speed Racer cars (both classic and modern), as several have the GENERAL flow of that era, though specifics would have to be based on individual model accuracy (builder desire varies wildly) and the car shown in the comics (which vary from time to time-> see Spencer1984 for advise here).
Several are VERY close to a "stock" car, like the Countach or Pantera, while others are completely custom and would take immense body conversions to make an accurate replica (like in the 2 modeled by Corgi in their "1/43" die-casts).

I have most of the comics from this stretch, so if you'd like more scans of any of these, let me know. Also, there was one other major event in the post-crisis universe that you may want to consider: No Man's Land. Bruce used two cars in that, though the first one was destroyed in the 'quake:

For some of those, aircraft canopies may be useful for the "glass."
I'd look to 1/48 and LARGER, esp 1/32.
There are vac-kits that are kit replacement for the "stock" ones. You may want to look into those. Also, look at blister packs themselves, as some have that "domed" look.

Man, those look great!
Was the '92 when Jean-Paul was wearing that full-on "Knightfall" armour, or is that the '94? Was one most associated with him?
Was NO MAN'S LAND with or without the oval bat symbol?
I think I will be sculpting the Azrael car mostly out of clay and using vacuform tech to make the pieces.
