Here's more info and press release photos of the new Batman LEGOs coming in April. Some of the text may have been in earlier news updates also, I can't remember.
Through an agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, LEGO Group acquires construction toy license for the classic Batman brand, inspired by the pages of DC Comics? comic books; Warner Bros. Animation?s hit television series, The Batman; Warner Bros. Pictures? blockbuster feature film, Batman Begins, which debuted in theaters this past summer and any related theatrical releases or television programs that are produced during the period of this deal.
Beginning in April 2006, LEGO Group will introduce six Batman products featuring constructible play sets with strong vehicle focus, cool functionality, gadgets and a library of collectible mini-figures. Available for ages 6+, they range in price from $9.99 to $89.99 (USD).
The LEGO Batman product line replicates the collectible craze the company created around its best-selling LEGO Harry Potter? series ? where sets are designed to be combined to further the storyline and role play opportunities.
?Our partnership with the LEGO brand on Harry Potter has been an extremely successful one and we are excited about building our relationship through Batman,? said Karen McTier, Executive Vice President of Domestic Licensing, Global Toys, Publishing and Themed Entertainment for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. ?LEGO Group brings a wealth of creativity and quality to the products they produce and are uniquely positioned to meet the high level of expectations we have for Batman, one of our marquis brands.?
LEGO Batman will be supported with TV, print and online ads, Web content, LEGO Club, targeted events, a model tour and retail promotions.

Very cool, I'm looking forward to these. It would be great if they did all the different sizes like they did with Harry Potter - a mini Crime Alley scene up to a giant Arkham Asylum. |

Yeah, those're some cool ideas. I'd like to see some big building sets, I'm just weary of the price.
Here's the official site, thanks to Planet-Man for the link.

Mr. Freeze easily looks the coolest. The gray on Batman's costume looks darker on the site animations than it does in the picture above.
Marge: Homer, I've got someone here who can help!
Homer: Batman?
Marge: No, a scientist!
Homer: Batman's a scientist.
Marge: It's not BATMAN!! |

I'm impressed by all of them. The Thug looks like he works for Two-Face from his colours.
I might even make a Lego film if i get my hands on them but that'd require a lot of work.
shame there is no Riddler : ???::

Shame they didn't give Penguin a nose like they did for the Harry Potter goblins. I'd also love to see a suit-and-tie-wearing Riddler.
Man, I'm gonna go broke on these things.

Fortunately we have some time to prepare our wallets. At least it's not the Death Star kit. |

Pretty cool stuff, I like the Batmobile.
