I've bought this today - I don't think it's a new item, but it's completely new to me! I'm assuming it's based on something that actually existed - which is also new to me!! (or maybe I just don't know Batman as well as I think I do!)

When I hear about something like this, I usually assume it's just a generic vehicle that has Batman logos slapped on it and has been used for all sorts of properties before (like the train set shown in magazine ads). But that may not be the case as this has a limited assortment and all. If it was a real truck, I'd love to see a photo.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like a '60s styled Batman. There were Batman ice cream products back then, so having a trucked with Batman art wouldn't be too unlikely.

Forgive me if this sounds stupid - do you have Ice Cream vans in the States?

We call them Ice Cream trucks. But yeah, more or less it's a truck that serves Ice Cream. lol

Do the UK versions have the disturbing children's music?

Ours goes by EVERYDAY.. it plays this:

Do your ears hang low

Do your ears hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie 'em in a knot?
Can you tie 'em in a bow?
Can you throw them over your shoulder
like a Continental Soldier?
Do your ears hang low?

Do your ears Flip Flop?
Can you use them as a mop?
Are they stringy at the bottom?
Are they curly at the top?
Can you put them in a shower
With a giant daisy flower?
Do your ears Flip Flop?

Does your tongue hang out?
Can you shake it all about?
When you try to tuck it in,
does it just hang out?
Can you roll it to the ground,
with a clunk and a pound?
Does your tongue hang out?

That's possibly the weirdest thing I've seen today. I knew they made utility versions of the Mini, but I've never seen one done as an Ice Crem van. And I've definitely never seen one done as a Batman Ice Cream van. Thanks for posting this!

Yeah, but that's not weird if you've ever lived on one of those ice cream truck routes. The freakin' song haunts your dreams after a while. The truck that drove past our apartment played "Pop goes the Weasel."

That's actually quite sinister sounding!

I'm thinking of using Cale's bar of chocolate as my sig!

Actually that's a 12" x 18" promo poster reproduction I found on eBay, so I put it in the Ads & Promos section. I assume it's for ice cream like the Slam Bang Vanilla Ice Cream poster I showed earlier (I love use of color on that one). And I'm guessing they were used on ice cream trucks/vans or maybe in shops.

They're actually still on eBay:
- Dairy Chocolate Poster
- Slam Bang Vanilla Ice Cream Poster

I was hoping someone would say that! Smile

EDIT

I did a quick Google search and found someone apparently trying to sell a real 1972 Bedford Batman Ice Cream van. The sale has been removed though and there's no email address to ask for photos.
