Right now as caleson said. My room looks like a store.
i want to redo the whole room for the girls I am not a player  plus have half of it for with toys for me
Also i have a bad habit of buying 2 of the same figs.
i think i have issues....:/

Great photos, FlaBat! I'm trying to heed what you said about planning: ever since we moved into our current house, I've been planning out a hobby room that will hopefully act as a catch all/display area for my various hobbies. It's still a ways off, but that just gives me more time to figure out where everything is going to go.

I found the glass cabinets at garage sales and hope to find two
more this year...I paid around $15.00 bucks apiece...
I love my Batmobiles to be free on the shelves too...:p
The real only dusting I do now is on the Batmobiles...
I had a hell of alot more but have made a killing on E-Bay...
Right place and at the right time...

I wouldn't mind having a few of those Batmobiles!!
Can you get a closer picture of the cabinet with the figures in?
Nice Collection - I'm going to have to get my Batmobiles out of the boxes and on display soon - seeing all these pix is making me twitchy!

Man, I really wish I took care of my old Batman toys. Looking at the pictures of peoples' collection makes me want to rebuy every Batman toy I had and display it.
Of course that'll be impossible with very limited money. Heh. |

That's definitely a great package Drunken Fist - if you think about it, although they must be partly designed with collectors in mind, toys in shops, in boxes; they're made for kids to walk past & say "mummy, can I have......" - that's the sort of box that would nail it!
Just looking at that, I might stick a couple of MOTU animated DVDs on my rental list........ |

Which poster was that? I have a couple of the old posters myself, one is a giant figure checklist, and the other features Thunder Punch He-Man and Dragon Blaster Skeletor leading their respective armies into battle. Great stuff.

I know the art had a big effect on me. They really drew the eye, more so than anything else on the shelves. I used to stare at those boxes for hours, it seemed. That Castle Grayskull art I posted has one of the funny mistakes that were made early on. Beast Man is actually fighting alongside He-Man's crew, preparing to attack Skeletor! I guess the relationships weren't always clear to the artists right at the beginning.
I never thought the MOTU cartoon measured up to the early comics, but it's good-natured, goofy fun. Definitely worth at least a rental.

I have no idea where or how I got it, but I still have it here somewhere. I'd love to see the same thing done in the new MOTU style. I think part of the reason I liked it so much was because it was like the battle scenes they had on the backs of TF packaging.

Ultimately its up to you as to whether or not to open an item, do what you want to do, not what everyone else is doing. As for me, Im split on what I open and leave sealed. Alot of it depends on the packaginf itself. Back in the day, toys had individual artwork on the packaging, those items I still have sealed. Once items started coming in generic packaging, I started opening. That also helped out with the space issues, for a short time anyway, as you can get more loose items on a shelf than hanging sealed items on a wall. |

Yeah, it's especially interesting to look at items from the '60s and '70s, but all the way up to the late '80s a lot of items had unique packaging. As a side note, I still haven't opened my Silver Age Penguin & Catwoman DCD set because the box is just so cool looking. I still don't have the Batman & Robin or Batgirl & Joker sets though, so when I do, I may open them all to display together.

I, too, have wondered what happened to the original MOTU artwork. They probably weren't as highly regarded then as they are today, but they looked great and couldn't have been simply tossed away.

I know this thread is getting off topic, but actually, I think this was the poster he had:
For more info and photos, here's the auction:
Two 1984 He-Man MOTU posters; A Must Have!
I thought it ended around $60 or $80, but I'm not sure. I guess the closing bid of this one will prove how true that is. Then again, that auction was around the 2002-2003 revival.
It's cool that not only are they beautiful paintings, but some also feature the characters in their variation Battle-Damaged and Dragon Blast armor.
