DC Direct is pleased to announce that its most popular action figures will be available again as part of the new Reactivated line, which will feature some of DC?s most famous ? and infamous ? characters.

Advance solicited in the April Previews (Vol. XVI #4), the first four Reactivated Action Figures ? BATMAN, SUPERMAN, WONDER WOMAN and LOBO ? are scheduled to arrive in stores on November 22.

The REACTIVATED ACTION FIGURES are available in the MASTER CASE ASSORTMENT (APR060300), featuring four each of the figures, and the INNER CASE ASSORTMENT (APR060301), featuring two each of the figures.

DC Direct also announces that the REACTIVATED ACTION FIGURES will also be available as single figures.

Item codes for the single Reactived Action Figures are as follows:

? REACTIVATED BATMAN ACTION FIGURE (JAN068201)
? REACTIVATED LOBO ACTION FIGURE (JAN068202)
? REACTIVATED SUPERMAN ACTION FIGURE (JAN068203)
? REACTIVATED WONDER WOMAN ACTION FIGURE (JAN068204)

In addition, for every qualifying purchase of a standard Master Case, retailers can buy a solid pack of sixteen action figures of the character of their choice at the standard-figure rate, as opposed to the premium single-figure price.

As an example, a retailer ordering one Reactivated Master Case also may order one Solid Pack of Reactivated BATMAN, LOBO, SUPERMAN, or WONDER WOMAN Action Figures.

Item codes for the Reactivated Solid Pack cases are:

? REACTIVATED BATMAN SOLID PACK (JAN060302)
? REACTIVATED LOBO SOLID PACK (JAN060303)
? REACTIVATED SUPERMAN SOLID PACK (JAN060304)
? REACTIVATED WONDER WOMAN SOLID PACK (JAN060305)

I don't understand that Item Code stuff. That's probably more important to retailers. But I am happy to see these basic DC characters being re-released. Tonight I had a hard fought bidding war for multiple loose DCD figures and I couldn't believe how high they were going, especially a First Appearance Batman (try $24). I barely won anything.

Hopefully Reactivated can help drop the secondary market value of a lot of figures so regular people can afford the basic DC characters they want. That retooled Hush Batman should make a beautiful '80s/'90s Batman.

While this is good news for collectors it is also bad news for collectors. It?s great that the average collector will get a chance to get the figures, but is too bad for those that did, as the value of their figures will drop. Toy Biz did the same thing with the Marvel Legends line releasing more of figures that were chase or variant figures after the initial run.

If these REACTIVATED figures are different (retooled / new colors) than before it?s not such a bad thing. I for one have not had too much problems getting the DCD figures I want. We have 3 Comic Stores in my area. I only deal with one of them and I get what I want for the most part. Sometimes my Comic Store gets a case he does not want to break and if I have to have the figure I?ll go elsewhere. However, most of the time I tell him what I want, he gets it in and holds it until I see him and he give me a nice discount.

Great news for me! I know I should leave them in the box etc. But I cant help my self! I rip em out just like a kid and alot of them are starting to get super pricey.
So I am thrilled!

You mean after obtaining them? Keep in mind, there are different types of collectors. "Collector value" is a curse to those that actually want to enjoy the products they buy. It sucks for people who have to empty their wallet for a figure, but someone who cries over the fact that their MOC figures' "value" dropped needs to concern themself with more important issues. I'm just not impressed by people who buy an item and leave it sealed just so they can say "This is worth $75!". Whoopy friggin' doo.

I have to agree with Caleson, I am one of those who take the figures out of thier packaging and display them on shelves. I HATE having to pay an outrageous amount for a figure thats older because it's "MOC". The value they have for me is just looking at them on display which is higher IMO thatn any monitary value. No knocking the "on the card" guys, thats great and impressive, just sucks when it hits home.

big grin

I agree with Caleson too. Most of my collection is out. Hopefully this year I?ll have enough money to renovate the room and put up my collection again.

What do you mean you should? I think the pressures of the whole 'collector value' mentality have taken a toll on the entire scene of fans and in a way, burned into us, regardless of our personal preferences.

I admit, if I had a boxed Mego Batman figure, I probably wouldn't remove it, mainly because of the scarcity and the idea that I'd never see another like it. But I just can't let that stuff bother me with the contemporary items I buy. I wouldn't care the slightest bit if my Hush Batman figure's 'collector' worth suddenly plummeted to $5. It'd be the same, fine-quality item that'd make just as great a contribution to my collection as it ever did. If you're collecting something because of the high numbers associated with it, you might as well collect old Barbies or Mickey Mouse merchandise. To me, it's about my admiration for the characters and an outlet for entertainment, not business.

lol , man I know thats what I do. I look at characters on ebay and say damn I should of kept in the box. But then I relize if it was I wouldnt sell it anyway! Because I buy them for the joy of having them and not the value.
